what i think a blog is... i guess?

I always thought that blogs were just a Myspace or some other kind of teen networking thing. I saw them just as a bunch of drama between adolescents talking about who is with who, who did what with who, and a whole load of immature conversational crap. I feel as though that blogs never seemed important in any way besides seeing who is having a horrible day or whatever. But what I didn’t realize is that blogging is becoming ever more popular and reading the articles on “Teach.Write” page showed that even major companies are using it. I’m not going to deny that I find somewhat ridiculous to do these blogs because people showed call, each other or meet up somewhere if they want to talk or say crap to each other face to face. However, the article on Mr. Tambakeras discussing that there is hate on blogs wouldn’t surprise me with the United States history and its society today. I feel that if blogs are going be used that there shouldn’t be any sort of hate towards anyone or anything, and that the blog should just be used, I guess as a virtual journal and no drama should be put on it. And if there are conflicts or people need to discuss stuff then they should do it person.

You say that people should just meet up and talk face to face. I definitely agree with you. But what about if another person lives far away, in Finland or something? Should I not communicate with them because I can't afford a plane ticket to go have a Finnish coffee with them at a Finnish coffee shop? What are some benefits of being able to exchange ideas with someone on the other side of the world, someone who, just twenty years ago, you might never have even gotten the chance to know?

This is true, I wasn't totally thinking about that fact of people around the world I was thinking more in the context of Myspace teens that go to the same high school,or city. So, in the case of people living far away that are talking badly, and its not possible to go to that Finnish coffee Shop, then yes i agree that blogging is in a way a useful tool.

I agree with what you said, the immaturity of many people on the internet these days is ridiculous and getting out of hand. If you do have something you disagree with, you don’t attack the person because of it, you attack the topic.

I agree with you when you say that it is not surprising that there is hate on blogs because of our nations history and society today, but I think it is merely impossible to stop all hate writings that are on the blog posts. I also wonder why you think there should be no drama posted on the blogs. What if this blog is the only way for someone to communicate their feelings?
